June Newsletter 2010
(posted: 10-06-2010)Dear Koi Club Member
NEW KOI RELEASED.........
This weekend all of our Spring koi will be released and on view. They are already on both our websites www.richdon-koi.com & www.richdonkoifarm.com
Not only do we have all these koi for sale but over 600 smaller koi in our outside ponds ranging from £15 to £75, so as usual a wide selection of koi on show here at Richdon Koi.
We have the special Tosai on the farm website which can be grown in the 50,000gallon indoor pond with growth rates you wouldn't believe!
We have released many new tosai which range from £95 to £395, these are now photographed and showing on the Richdon website.
In the ponds outside we have topped these up after a busy bank holiday weekend with new koi too.
50k Tosai.
These are ok for viewing but only for those who are interested in purchasing one. They are being held and grown in our 10,000gallon pond which is difficult to net and bowl. Please understand we would prefer only to turn the air off for a possible purchase as these koi are so special and need to be kept growing now until the autumn. PLEASE ask Richard to see these koi if interested. Last weekend we had these on show, this weekend we prefer not to to ensure the health and growth is paramount.
However 50k tosai which are priced £450 to £500 are in the fish house in pond 3
Aoki Goshiki's:-
On top of all that is being released for this weekend we will be releasing on show around 40 special Aoki Goshiki's. These are around 15to 18cm and priced at £145, sorry no pictures at this point in time. They will be sold on a first come first served basis. All of these have been hand selected from over 3000 by Richard on his recent trip to Japan. Please understand these HAVE to be taken at the time of selection, we cannot reserve or hold these koi for any reason.
BKKS National show-
Despite all the rumours Richdon Koi will sadly not be attending this year. Due to other commitments we have found it impossible to attend this year. We have of course sponsored and supported this event where we can. If you are going along to this event or even visiting Richdon Koi on the 26th & 27th June, then we are only 40 minutes away from the show ground.
Nutrikoi Silk
Well after a long wait due to difficulties beyond our control, this VERY popular food will be with us within the next week or so.
Certainly a food that has been missed and one of the best you can feed your koi during the summer months. Our 100,000gallon pond will be using around 20kg per week from now until the end of September with our tosai pond using around 10kg mixed with growth and performance.
We will inform you as soon as it arrives!!!
Building a new pond, or upgrading
Believe it or not for new pond builds and pond upgrades this spring so far has been one of our busiest yet. So many people are coming to us for our sound advice and more importantly our great filters. Our Bio-Max range is certainly proving its worth and ability to filter a koi pond.
See our range HERE
Come along with ideas & plans, sit down, have a tea or coffee and get it right!
So many times we have to rectify poor advice given by others, come see us first.
